Becky Lynch wins Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships in confusing finish

That Lynch would be standing tall at the end of WrestleMania had seemed preordained for months. It seemed guaranteed when WWE announced that the triple threat pitting her against Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey would close the show, marking the first time a women’s match would main event WrestleMania.Becky Lynch prevailed over Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair, following a surprise roll-up crucifix pin on Rousey, in a satisfying main event on an eternal WrestleMania card that tested the will power of an international pool of spectators.

A tired MetLife Stadium endured the weather and a marathon WWE card that boasted a match count that tied for the most in WWE history.

KofiMania ran wild as Kofi Kingston’s WWE Championship victory instantly became one of the most emotional moments WrestleMania history. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins is your new WWE Universal champion while Kurt Angle came up short in his farewell match.

However, when the match officially got underway and Rollins had sustained a string of suplexes the challenger was able to gain the upper hand after low-blowing Lesnar.

The referee was out of the ring, meaning the illegal shot was not seen and Rollins took advantage with a hat-trick of curb-stomps to secure the shock defeat.

Most surprising was the time in which Lesnar was defeated, dropping his belt after just two-minutes and thirty seconds of action.

Flair, who recently won the Smackdown Women’s Championship, arrived to MetLife Stadium in a helicopter. Escorted out of the chopper, she then spread her arms as a pair of handlers outfitted her in a robe.

Balor channels his alter-ego for big events, and WrestleMania is exactly that. With his face and body painted, Balor crawled to the ring and proceeded to overpower the 6-foot-3-, 273-pound Lashley with a powerbob. Balor claimed the victory and the title with a coup de gras from the top rope.Alas, WWE’s writing staff stuck with its instincts. And in Angle’s final match, the 50-year-old brought it. Borrowing from the past, Angle climbed to the top room and performed a moonsault, but Corbin sneaked out of the way and hit Angle with his End of Days finisher for the pin.
